The Beer

Fox Light - Pass
Reviewer's Rating: n/a

Winnebago Wheat - made from a 60% wheat/40% malted barley mix. It is a typical wheat, a little soapy. Not overpowering, but with a sweet, fruity taste.

Buzzin' Honey Ale - Made with 100% Wisconsin Honey. It's difficult to find an understated, yet distinct honey ale. This one is a nice mix, similar to Leine's Honey Weiss. They call it "refreshing'" and we agree. It is our Sheri's favorite (our waitress).

Paine's Lumberyard Pilsner - This is a good PALE ALE. Pilsner? C'mon. It is the best of Fox River's lighter beer. I liked it as a pale ale. Would be great (and was) with a burger/meal.

Fox Tail Amber Ale - Spicy, but light body is what you'll get with Fox Tail Amber Ale. Skippy, says, "Amber is a good name; it's a darker flavor than a typical red." He recommends it with a slice of lemon to smooth out the taste a bit. I agree.

Caber Tossing Scottish Ale - This won some kind of Silver Medal (I don't know where). To tell you the truth, this was our least favorite beer of the evening. It's under-carbonated, sweet with aftertaste, and slides down the throat. Tasted like a bock lite. Not for me; may be good in quantity.

Titan Porter - a nice smoky porter, but a little smoother and thinner, not as thick or bitter. This was my second favorite of the night. Skippy concurs and ranks it third among the offerings.

Fox Bock - We completely agreed upon this was our favorite. This was a treat. It was porter-bitter and pale ale-dry, with the sweetness of an amber. It was everything the Scottish Ale should've been. Medium body, good finish, good "beer drinker's" beer. To be succinct and quote my friend, "Mikey likey."

The Atmosphere

Too busy. It was a Saturday night at a popular restaurant, so what do you expect? I'd like to go back on a weekday.

Afterthoughts

Fox Bock really stood out. Porter was good.
