The Beer

Dock Light - This might as well not even be beer. I should've had a Coors Light.

Sommerzeit Hefe Weizen - It is like a hefeweizen light. Tart, but wussy.

Kobesse Kolsch - Too light. Again, I'd rather have a Grolsch.

Perle Lager - Fourth beer into the tasting and finally one has some character. It has that German style lager taste to it. Dry aftertaste. Czar felt it was a more typical lager than a German lager.

Delafield Amber - Actually the best one of the bunch. The aroma was that of cereal grain; it reminded of Malt-o-Meal. It had a slightly dry, but subtle flavor, just the right dry/malt mixture. Probably a good quantity beer.

Pewaukee Porter - Typical choco-coffee aroma. Smoky-oaky and malty-sweet with a dry aftertaste. It almost finishes too quickly, without allowing the malt sweetness to come through enough first.

Discussion with Brewmaster

Do they have one?

The Atmosphere

Same as a preppy sports bar. High traffic, high sales. The one beautiful thing was how the tanks became centerpieces of the interior landscape. But ask a bartender about the beer and she'll point to the one-line descriptions printed on blue cardstock inserted in plastic table tents on the bar.

Czar's Take

(He didn't drink, just checked out the surroundings) A Friday night favorite for those after work get-togethers. It also included several couples and families. Impressive display of the huge barrels in the middle of the building. Really nice bar area on the right with table seating on the left and an upstairs area. A loud conversation atmosphere. The bartenders have no clue how to describe each beer. This place tries too hard to appeal to every type of customer.

Afterthoughts

If you must go, try the last three. Otherwise, you are paying premium prices for watered-down, masses-appealing macrobrew quality.
